La Bana Hebra

Pizarras La Bana S.A. originally started as a family-owned company founded in 1984 in La Baña (León) and has grown to become a benchmark in the global market, exporting to countries such as Great Britain, France and Germany, and even to countries with such demanding weather conditions as the USA and Canada.

The company Pizarras La Bana has been acquired in May 2023 by the Rathscheck Group.

La Bana quarry is located at high altitude, in the mountains of La Cabrera. Specialist in roofing slate, the slate from La Bana has not only passed the EN 12326 European regulatory standards, but also the strict Norm Françoise (NF) quality standard.

With a deep blue-black appearance that does not fade in sunlight, La Bana Hebra slate has a characteristic longitudinal grain and a very distinctive slightly wavy texture, with a very clean, pyrite-free finish.

La Bana Hebra slate is exceptionally easy to work with and to cut on site, in order to adjust the pieces to the desired dimensions.
